Brazil moved into the semifinal of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, holding on late for a 2-1 victory over Colombia on Friday. Hosts Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 to reach the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. They will take on Germany in the semi-final. Brazil seemed to be playing with fire for much for the second half, coming close to allowing Colombia to find the equalizer. Then in the 69th minute, a moment of brilliance from David Luiz doubled the lead. The two goals from central defensive pairing of Thiago Silva and David Luiz in either half lead to the victory. James Rodriguez pulled one back for Colombia but the hosts managed to hold on for the win.
